Security Tips for Online Shopping

Don't Use credit card for online transactions because if someone hacked your details you are Sucked ! but You can always use Sampath Bank's Sampath Webcard for online shopping. if something went wrong in this case you only lost very very small amount of money.

See the following security tips provided by Google on their Checkout Blog.

  • When shopping online, investigate the seller before you buy. A legitimate business or individual seller should give you a physical address and a working telephone number at which they can be contacted in case you have problems.
  • Check for a secure (https) connection when transmitting any sensitive information such as credit card numbers.
  • Don't reuse passwords across multiple accounts, and make sure your passwords are strong.
Always navigate to your online banking account directly (by entering the URL in your browser or using a bookmark), not by clicking on links in emails.
  • Whenever possible, avoid logging in to your online banking account or entering any other sensitive information onto websites while using a public computer.
  • Always log out completely after using online accounts, and never save your passwords on public computers.
    Beware of
    money scams.

Hotmail under attack.Change your passwords

Most common mistake lot of internet users are doing is they use same email and password for social networking and other  websites.lot of website(except couple of major websites) are using normal backend sqlserver databases and admin or other super users can access users information. so they may try to login your accounts because of your faults.

What I do I have several dummy email address to surf the web all those are pointed to a another account. and so on.

There are so many  other ways  to secure your primary email addresses.

Again DON’T Use one  email address for all of your internet works. Keep several emails with high secure password+ secondary emails. According to my experiences it is

Very easy to hack hotmail and yahoo address than gmail that is the most secure one and they use several good techniques to keep you secure.

For example if you are a hotmail user  and you are in facebook, it is very easy to capture your personal information that can be used to hack.

if you use simple security questions like what is my birth place? Place of my honeymoon ? what may be the result?

Change those security questions and answers and surf  web secure !

See the latest article about hotmail hacking !
